Metal Braces
Fixed, metal or traditional braces are the most standard way to shift teeth into their ideal location. Braces today are much smaller and much more comfortable than bulky metal braces of the past. And the wires used move teeth faster with less discomfort.

Clear or Ceramic
Braces
Receive all the benefits of metal braces without all the metal. These braces are far less noticeable compared to metal braces. The brackets are made from a ceramic material close in color to the patient’s teeth.

Orthodontics
for kids
Knowing if your child needs to see an orthodontist can be tricky. Sometimes, signs are present such as protruding teeth, unusual spacing or crowding. Other times, your child may show signs that only an orthodontic professional can detect.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends your child have an initial orthodontic evaluation at age 7 At this age, your child’s jaws are still developing and permanent teeth are starting to emerge, making it the perfect time for a children’s orthodontist to identify orthodontic problems like protruding teeth or crowding.
Some kids may benefit from early orthodontic treatment called Two Phase Treatment to create a proper foundation for normal jaw development and eruption of permanent teeth. Read more about Two Phase Treatment here.
Dr. Thurman offers a super fun Kid’s Club for kids ages 7 and up who aren’t quite ready for treatment but who would benefit from free routine check-ups. Enroll your child in our Groovy Grins Kid’s Club!

Orthodontics
for adults
Think you’re too “old” for braces? Think again! And stop thinking you’re old! Your smile is an asset. You should be proud to show it off. And if you’re not, we can help. Your smile is an important aspect of your personality and it affects both your social and professional life. And let’s not forget your oral health! Crooked, crowded teeth are harder to clean, which can result in damaging oral health problems.
At Thurman Orthodontics a large portion of our patient base is adults! With that in mind, we offer a variety of adult orthodontic treatment options like clear braces and Invisalign to get you smiling again without all the metal.
